Through this network’s support, The Gatherings Mentoring Networking Outreach Group was able to successfully host our Hope for the Holiday initiative—providing toys, clothing, food, and essential items to children and families in need.

Jefferson County Commission Opioid Settlement and Fund (Commissioner Sheila Tyson)
Focus: Wellness, Prevention & Outreach
Jefferson County Commission provides funding through the Opioid Settlement Fund to support community-based efforts that address the impact of opioid misuse and substance use disorders. These funds are designated to expand prevention, education, harm reduction, and recovery support services across Jefferson County.
The Gatherings Mentoring Networking Outreach Group utilizes this funding to implement prevention-focused programming for youth and young adults, including social-emotional learning, life skills development, and substance misuse awareness.

Bessemer Housing Authority YouthBuild
Our work with the Bessemer Housing Authority YouthBuild program is a cornerstone of our commitment to education and workforce development. We specialize in providing the educational scaffolding necessary for participants to achieve their academic goals while simultaneously training for vocational success. Midfield, Fairfield & Bessemer City High Schools
We maintain an active, on-the-ground presence within the Midfield, Fairfield, and Bessemer City High School systems. Our role focuses on the "whole student" through integrated Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), consistent mentoring, and direct academic support. By addressing the emotional and behavioral barriers to learning, we help students develop the resilience needed to overcome personal challenges. Our team works in tandem with school administrators to ensure that at-risk students stay engaged, graduate on time, and have a clear, confident plan for their post-secondary future.
