Jamie Oliver
Jamie Oliver, born and raised in Brighton, Al, where she grew up, at-risk and a statistic in her community. At age 15, pregnant, in an abusive relationship and after a miscarriage, she gave birth to her son at the age 17. She grew up in a gang related community, environment and family. The odds were against her, but God!
Jamie overcame every obstacle sent to destroy her, because of her mother, mentors, teachers and individuals that were placed in her life that challenged her to grow and develop in a positive way.
Ms. Oliver is now the mother of 3 (son, Active-duty US Navy, two daughters in college). Ms. Oliver is a college graduate with two associate degrees, Computer Information Systems and Administrative Office Management and formally worked 18 years in Corporate America and a Therapeutic Foster Parent,
In 2019, Ms. Oliver decided to change her career path, currently she is a Realtor®, owner of JayO Tax Services and The Founder and Executive Director of The Gatherings MNO Group.

WHO ARE WE?
The Gatherings Mentoring Networking Outreach Group is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization committed to strengthening youth, parenting teens, foster-involved children, and families in underserved and high-need communities. We recognize the significant impact that trauma, poverty, family instability, and the opioid crisis have on the well-being and development of children and families.
Through school-based and community-centered programs, we provide mentoring, social-emotional learning, life-skills education, family support services, and access to essential resources. Our work is grounded in compassion, trauma-informed practice, and a belief that every child and family deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive.
Our MISSION
The Gatherings Mentoring Networking Outreach Group mission is to empower underserved youth, young adults, and families by providing comprehensive support services that prevent high-risk behaviors and promote academic achievement, literacy, social-emotional learning, and overall wellness.
We are deeply committed to strengthening families impacted by trauma, poverty, and the opioid crisis through compassionate, trauma-informed care, education, and access to essential resources that build safe, stable, and thriving futures.

Our HISTORY
The Gatherings MNO Group was established in 2020 by Jamie Oliver with the vision of creating impactful programs and services for youth, aimed at fostering positive change, growth, and development within our communities and school systems.
Research indicates a significant need for mentoring and networking opportunities for hundreds of teenage girls and women in our local area and beyond, to support their journey towards leading successful and thriving lives within the community and broader society.
Our organization is committed to bridging the gaps within households, families, and society as a whole, by striving to connect the dots and provide essential support, guidance, and resources to empower individuals to reach their full potential.
